"Starring Will Ferrell, Ryan Reynolds and Octavia Spencer, director Sean Anders ('Instant Family') brings the Charles Dickens story of A Christmas Carol to modern times, but with a new twist: here, Scrooge turns the tables against the holiday ghosts. It's an interesting premise, and while the cast doesn't do much with it (Reynolds and Ferrell are their usual selves), it becomes a fun and harmless holiday movie, with songs created by Benj Pasek and Justin Paul (Oscar winners for 'La La Land')."
